NEWLY-minted mayor of Pound Town, Karl Hobday, loaded up at Nambucca Heads Island Golf Course on Saturday for an assumed personal best on the championship 18-hole layout.
The once was eight-marker hit 71 off the stick with birdies on 2, 12 and 18 to post 42 points and take out Div 1 of the Kempsey Toyota medley stableford which self-identified additionally as a Top Gun and National Handiskins qualifier.
Rod Hardy (13 handicap) carded the second highest score of the day with 40 points – including a please explain wipe on the short 5th – to finish runner-up.
Peter Bush (18) was on tap with 39 points and 84 off the bat to salute in Div 2, three clear of John Gysberts (20), who birdied the 4th.
John Buganey (22) streeted Div 3 with 38, four better than Bulldog barker Michael Summerill (27).
Hard-working greens’ team member Dan Wren collected the Ecomist prize pack for the longest putt on 1 and pins went to Peter Farrell on 5, Michael Jolly on 7, Drew Glasson on 8 and Tristram Edwards on 15. Handy golfer Keith Wallis boxed the Pizza This Pizza That meal on 13 and Darrell Flanders banked a tidy $90 with the Pro Pin on 18.

Ever-travelling Andrew Donovan slam-dunked the putt from a distance on 1 and pins went to McNeil on 5, Wauchope’s Neville Broderick on 7, Flanders on 8 and Steve Frost on 15. Peter Bush won’t have far to wander in Bowra St to redeem a pizza after hitting it handy on 13 and Trevor Hopkins banked $70 for the Pro Pin on the last.
